He Had a Cool Car and She Rode a Horse in White Jeans

Dirt Road

My mom would always say that she went out with my dad because one of her friends had told her that he had a cool car. My dad said that the first time he saw my mom she had on white jeans and she was riding a horse. He thought that any girl that could ride a horse in white jeans was worth dating.

They were introduced by friends. My mom was a beauty queen and my dad was a football star. They were married in Germany, where my dad played football for the Air Force. My oldest sister was born in Germany, and my other sister and I were born in Houma, LA upon the return of my parents to the United States.

My parents have been married now for over forty years and it is evident to me that they love each other now more than ever! Forty plus years, a successful business, three girls, and six grand children are an attribution to a great car, and white jeans and a horse.
