Earl Bradley Lewis

Crayons

Please Click Here to Check out books and illustrations that were created by Mr. Lewis!

Earl Bradley Lewis was born in 1956. He is a native of Philadelphia. His artistic inspirations were his two uncles. Around the sixth grade, Mr. Bradley attended an art class at Temple University School Art League that was run by one of his uncles. He studied under the famous artist Clarence Wood. He later attended classes at Temple University Tyler School of Art where he spent four years majoring in Graphic Design and Illustration, as well as Art Education.

Mr. Lewis gained a love of watercolor. This is his choice of medium that he uses in most of his art work. I think that is why I chose him as a favorite illustrator. Besides charcoal and ink, watercolor is my favorite medium for detail drawing. It has a calming flow to it.
Mr. Lewis has had numerous gallery showings. Every one of his openings has been to sold out capacity. His work has been renowned and his work is a part of both private as well as public galleries.

Mr. Lewis is now a part of the faculty at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he teaches illustration.

The first time I saw a book (Coming on Home Soon) that was illustrated by Mr. Lewis, I have to admit, I was AWED! I actually bought the book because of the illustrations. Please click on the link above to view Mr. Lewis' work, and the books that he has illustrated.
