Beth McDaniel-Hill

Baseball

Today was the first day of observations at Tibbett Middle School. I went into Mrs. McDaniel-Hills class as she asked me to help some of her students with a writing project that she was working on with her class. Next week I will go into Beth Smith’s class as she is who I am assigned to for the semester. I met her at the end of the class and she explained to me what they had been working on.

Mrs. McDaniel’s class has been given a choice of issues that they will find a possible solution for. This particular day, the students were posing questions for an expert dealing with the issue that they have chosen. There was a cart of books that had been wheeled in from the library. These books had been selected as they are books that associate with the topics that the students had chosen.

I was paired with two girls that were writing about health care, and the problem of slow service, where ambulances, emergency rooms, and urgent care facilities were concerned. The girls seemed excited about their writing. They both had experience with slow health care, and wanted to find out how things could change so that really sick people could get help in a timely manor.

This was a fun class, and I look forward to seeing Mrs. Smith’s class on the 25th!
