People climbing books

I try to obtain information by listening to people for information and I like to learn from written explanations of different sublets. I learn best through observing others, and their explanations. I believe experience; however the best way for someone to learn is is through experience.

The way for a student or a person to think critically is to find examples that are creditable. The examples should also be precise, and relevant to the subject. Lastly, the examples should be accurate. In order to think of something in depth, the person need to also dig deep and to research extensively.

Critical thinkers often times are those that learn in depth about a subject. It is also that person that thinks outside of the box. A critical thinker looks at the meat of a subject and then researches the subject to find all points of views pertaining to that subject. They do not just settle for what a person, or a book tells them.

I often refer to what my dad always says about History. He says that the History books are written by the winners. This means that often times there is a one sided view to the way History is played out. Throughout the last couple of years, this has gotten better, but I can remember learning about the Civil War in one way, and then when I moved from the South, I heard a whole different perspective about the Civil War. It would be interesting to hear the perspectives of the Civil War from different regions and different countries.

By opening our minds, and exploring beyond the words of books written, by authors with agendas, are not the basis for research. Different stories are told differently. Looking at the perspectives of different cultures, and different genders, and different ethnicities, will help a person have a better rounded and true view of what is real. Digging deeper into a subject can only extenuate one’s level of teaching, as well as learning.
